The Feng Shui Secret Weapon | Feng Shui Life Mapping | Feng Shui ...

?Feng Shui? means ?Wind? and ?Water?? two words which give a brilliant illustration of how we can view energy flowing through our lives and our environments. We don?t want to live in hurricane force winds any more than stale recycled air; and we don?t want to live in a tidal wave any more than a stagnant pond. Balance and flow are key.

You can nourish the flow of energy in your life by enhancing the energy flow in your space. And the Feng Shui secret weapon is the Crystal Faceted Sphere; it enhances energy flow, deflects negative energy, and balances energy in your space.

Three Tier Angel Constellation by David Phillips

?

How Do They Work?

If you?ve ever seen one of these in the window with the sun shining through it, you?ve witnessed it sending a cascade of rainbows all around the room. Even when you can?t see the rainbows, as when there is very little or indirect light, light as an energy force is flowing through the crystal and being transmuting to create a powerful, clear and balanced environment. An effect similar to going? from a one-note ?ah? to a symphonic ?OM?!

?

Where Do We Hang Them?

Crystal spheres can have so many benefits they can go almost anywhere. They are especially useful anywhere where the energy is too slow, too fast or out of balance.

  • Hang one in a dark and clutter closet, it will loosen the ?cluttered? (i.e. stuck) energy to make it easier to find things, organize things, and feel lighter.
  • Hang one in a long hallway, and the rushing, gushing tunnel-like energy will slow down to create a calm walkway
  • Hang one from a ceiling fan and prevent the negative effects of the blades chopping your personal energy if you are below it.
  • Hang one from a rafter over your bed or desk and mitigate negative/cutting energy a rafter shoots down below.
  • Hang one in a room where there is often bickering, chaos or anxiety and create a sense of serenity.
  • Hang one in your love and partnership corner and watch your love life zoom!

Traditionally, crystal spheres are are hung from a red string of 9? inches or cut in increments of 9?. And be sure to clean your crystal before hanging?

?

How to Clean Your Crystal

Before hanging your crystal, and periodically (about every month), a crystal needs to be cleaned to improve both its shine and its energy vibration. Think of it kind of like cleaning your finest jewelry ? you want it clean so it keeps its bling!

There are many ways to clean a crystal and the way I prefer most is to use the cleansing resonance of a Tibetan singing bowl.

Other effective ways to clean and clear a crystal?s energy are to soak it in a sea-salt bath or in the ocean or even a flowing stream. You can also bury one in the earth for a few days, which is especially powerful during the new moon. And of course there is always smudging.

Multi-Dimensional Crystal Designs

Large Crystal Diamond by David Phillips

I had the pleasure of meeting Crystal and Wire Art artist, David Phillips, recently and I am incredibly inspired by his art and the way he incorporates Feng Shui principles into his crystal designs.

His use of colored crystals, selected for their particular Feng Shui associations, amplify distinct energies. And he takes things up a notch by creating multi-sphere designs that undoubtedly guarantee an abundance of positive energy anywhere that they are placed.

You can meet David and view/purchase his work this weekend at the Great SF Crystal Fair at Fort Mason over Thanksgiving Weekend, Nov 23 & 24. Check out his website to see some of his creations.

Son of Madoff's accountant kills himself

6 min.

The son of Bernard Madoff's longtime accountant, who himself pleaded guilty to securities fraud in the scandal centered on the disgraced financier, has committed suicide in central Ohio, authorities said.?

Jeremy Friehling, 23, was found dead at his apartment of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday in Columbus, where he was a second-year student at Ohio State's medical school, police there said.?

There was no indication that the Madoff investment scandal had anything to do with the suicide, Franklin County Coroner Jan Gorniak said. She said Friehling left a note that just said that he was sorry.?

Police detective Jay Fulton confirmed Sunday that Friehling left a note but would not give details about its contents.?

The Friehling family declined to comment and "asks that their privacy be respected at this difficult time," Andrew Lankler, an attorney for Friehling's father, said Sunday.?

Bernard Madoff was arrested in 2008 and later admitted that his investment business was a multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison. Madoff's son, Mark Madoff, committed suicide in December 2010, hanging himself in his New York City apartment.?

Friehling's father, David, of New City, N.Y., pleaded guilty in 2009 to securities fraud charges. Madoff's accountant for nearly two decades, he quickly came under scrutiny after the financier's spectacular scam came to light. Federal prosecutors said he turned a blind eye to Madoff's cooked books.?

David Friehling said he failed to do his job to verify Madoff's financial records but insisted that he didn't know Madoff was ripping off investors. He noted that he had put his own family's savings, including college funds for his three children, into Madoff's investment business.?

"In what was the biggest mistake of my life, I put my trust with Bernard Madoff," Friehling told a judge.?

Friehling has yet to be sentenced, as he is continuing to work with prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to charges that carry a potential prison term of up to 114 years in prison, though substantial cooperation can result in significant leniency. He also agreed to forfeit $3.1 million, which represents what he was paid by Madoff for his accounting and tax services, along with what his family withdrew from their Madoff accounts.?

Jeremy Friehling was "a friend to many and a brilliant student who gave selflessly of his time to tutor other students," said a statement from the dean of the Ohio State medical school, Charles Lockwood. He also said Friehling had great promise as a future physician.?

Immunotherapy for Lung Cancer Could Advance With Help Of Stem Cell Finding

Stem cells are unique cells that can divide and differentiate into specialized cells typesfor example cardiac muscle or liver tissue. These cells also have the ability to self-renew and produce more stem cells.

"Increasing evidence supports the idea that cancerous tumors have a population of stem cells, also called cancer-initiating cells, that continually regenerate and fuel cancer growth," explains Morris, senior author of the study and professor at the UC College of Medicine. "These cancer stem cells may also have the highest potential to spread to other organs."

Current models used to study cancer stem cells provide limited information on the interaction between cancer stem cells with the immune system, making the study of new therapies that utilize the body's immune system to fight off cancer virtually impossible.

In this study, the UC team set out to find a viable, consistent way to isolate lung cancer stem cells that could be used in a mouse model with full immune system function. The team was able to achieve this using a functional laboratory test known as "tumorsphere" assay.

The testwhich shows how cells grow in cultureallowed them to enrich for cancer stem cells.

"Studying these unique cells could greatly improve our understanding of lung cancer's origins and lead to the novel therapeutics targeting these cells and help to more effectively eradicate this disease," adds Morris. "Immunotherapy is the future of cancer treatment. We are hopeful that this new method will accelerate our investigation of immunotherapies to specifically target cancer stem cells."

The team is working to characterize how cancer stem cells escape the body's immune system in order to develop more effective therapies that target stem cells.

"One of the hypotheses behind why cancer therapies fail is that the drug only kills cells deemed to be 'bad' (because of certain molecular characteristics), but leaves behind stem cells to repopulate the tumor," adds Morris. "Stem cells are not frequently dividing, so they are much less sensitive to existing chemotherapies used to eliminate cells deemed abnormal."

Twitter introduces multimedia-led search across service, enhances discovery on mobile apps

Twitter has updated its search results on all platforms to highlight images and video, while expanded tweets in search and the Discovery tab now show users more at a glance.

Twitter?s expanded tweets, which show previews of articles and images shared in tweets, have now been introduced with more than 2,000 partners. While users viewing their main Twitter feed need to tap a tweet to jump to the expanded version, Twitter has decided to automatically expand tweets in all search results, as well as in the Discover section on mobile.

This is great for Twitter browsers who want more information to hand instantly, and also means users can do more with their 140-character allowance. Since expanded tweets reveal the content of a link or image for users, there?s no need to include a full description in the text of the tweet in order to encourage users to click through, leaving more room for comment.

Twitter mobile screenshots

Search results have also been revamped to highlight photos and videos first, showing relevant media being shared around the query. Twitter also makes its tailored ranking (introduced about a year ago) clearer, as users can see who favourite or retweeted the tweets appearing at the top of their results, putting into context why these tweets were selected for prominence.

Slim The Mobster Ignites Twitter Beef With 50 Once Again (@50cent @slimthemobster)

Nov 15, 2012 | 12:00 AM??? Written By: Pierce Watson

50 Cent just can't seem to resist a good ol' Twitter beef, especially when he's goaded into it. Back in August, former Aftermath artist Slim the Mobster had some foul words to say about 50 Cent on Twitter after 50 spoke somewhat negatively about him in an interview. Slim went on an epic rant in which he threatened 50 and challenged him to make a move. 50 responded cool and collected, telling his followers he was "smiling" instead of sending shots back.

Now, it looks like 50 has changed his mind about the whole "smile gang" thing. The Queens rapper took to Twitter on Sunday and attacked Slim, making fun of his now meaningless "Aftermath" tattoo, and even poking fun at his apparently chapped lips. However, the attack was not unprovoked. Slim has been absolutely wildin' on his Twitter account, as he's gone on a Twitter rant that could only rival his one back in August. In it, among many other things, Slim claims 50 used ThisIs50 to snitch on him for drugs and guns. Check out the tweets above.

EU trade chief calls on Mexico to reopen trade pact with Europe

EU trade chief calls on Mexico to reopen trade pact with Europe

QUERETARO (Reuters) ? Europe and Mexico need to go back to the negotiating table to rework their 12-year-old free-trade agreement to include services and agriculture, the European Union?s top trade official said on Monday.

EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said Mexico and Europe needed to rework their trade pact, which was signed in 2000, to match the framework of more recent and comprehensive deals.

"Mexico and the European Union have been pioneers of transatlantic free trade but our legal relationship now risks falling behind," De Gucht told a conference in the central Mexican city of Queretaro.

Europe is Mexico?s third-biggest trading partner behind the United States and China, but the trade of Latin America?s second-biggest economy is focused on its northern neighbour, which buys nearly 80 percent of Mexican exports.

The EU is nearing a wide-reaching deal with Canada, and the European Parliament could approve by the end of the year a deal with Colombia and Peru that ministers signed in March, De Gucht said.

The EU also hopes to launch talks on a similar comprehensive deal with the United States next year.

De Gucht said Mexico and the EU should reopen their previous agreement to include services, agriculture as well as investment, technical barriers and public procurement.

"It will make a lot of sense to upgrade our relations with Mexico (which is) in the middle of this whole cluster of agreements that we have been concluding and that we are concluding," De Gucht told Reuters on the sidelines of the conference.

"Now it is up to the Mexicans to reciprocate such an offer and then we can engage in a process," he said.

President-elect Enrique Pena Nieto will take office on December 1 and his government would need to follow up on Europe?s overture. De Gucht said he expects to meet with Pena Nieto during the trade commissioner?s current trip to Mexico.

CANADA, MERCOSUR

De Gucht said he would meet Canadian Trade Minister Ed Fast next week in Brussels to discuss the sticking points holding up the treaty with Canada that ministers hope to sign this year.

The Canada-EU deal would mark Europe?s first fully fledged trade pact with a developed country outside Europe and it would be Canada?s biggest deal since the landmark North American Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Mexico in 1994.

"Hopefully we are very close to closing a deal," he said, declining to elaborate on the main obstacles. "On both sides we have a very clear desire to wrap up the deal before the end of the year."

Sensitive trade matters that remain to be settled between Europe and Canada include access for agricultural goods, opening up procurement markets and the extension of pharmaceutical patents.

Meanwhile, talks with South American trading bloc Mercosur are on hold and have been complicated by a trade row before the World Trade Organization between Europe and Argentina.

In addition to difficulties with Argentina, De Gucht said high-level talks were on hold until Brazil?s government concludes consultations with domestic industries, set to finish before the end of the year.

He said Europe was interested in a deal but that there would need to be a "political breakthrough" to move talks forward.

"It is a little bit difficult to be optimistic," he said. "Obviously at this moment in time, it is extremely difficult with Argentina, but that should not discourage the others to move forward."

Mercosur includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.
